From the Mujeres Fuente de Creación project to the MABBONA company.

After thirteen years of intense artistic and community work, the Mujeres Fuente de Creación project has concluded a crucial cycle in the career of Franco-Cuban actress Monse Duany. For over a decade, this project has made the feminine world visible through productions exploring women’s memory, identity, and resilience, while also generating a space for collective creation and intercultural dialogue.
However, the natural evolution of its founder’s artistic research, as well as the need to broaden its horizons in terms of themes, stage languages, and collaborations, gave rise to a new stage: MABBONA company, officially established on July 21, 2025 in Lyon, France..
The MABBONA company emerges as an extension and transformation of the path already traveled. It retains the sensitivity, commitment, and humanist roots of Mujeres Fuente de Creación, but ventures into a more diverse territory, capable of integrating new voices, interdisciplinary formats, and alliances with other creators and cultural spaces. This new company not only preserves the spirit of promoting artistic expression from multiple perspectives; it also expands its mission to include organizing events, creating performances in international collaboration, and strengthening cultural exchange between artists and communities from different contexts.
In line with this new vision, MABBONA company’s first production and collaboration is the creation of El nombre de Juana, written and directed by Osvaldo Doimeadios, produced in partnership with NAVE Oficio de Isla. This project marks the beginning of the company’s creative journey, affirming its commitment to building artistic bridges between Cuba, France, and other cultural territories.
Thus, Mujeres Fuente de Creación’s move to MABBONA company represents a necessary renewal: a movement towards a more solid, open, and contemporary platform, allowing Monse Duany to pursue the development of his work with greater creative freedom and a broader reach within the Franco-Cuban and international theatrical landscape.
